What’s really on your wish list this year?

Are you weary of the commercialism that dominates the holiday?

Would you like to avoid gift-giving fatigue and make a real difference in someone’s life?

On Tuesday, December 3, YWCA Toronto is participating in ‘Giving Tuesday’, a new fundraising movement that offers an antidote to the gifting fatigue that comes from too much shopping, advertising and the general gluttony of the holiday season. Giving Tuesday was created in the U.S. as a response to the frenzy created by holiday shopping sales on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Giving Tuesday has spread to Canada. We hope that you will participate by encouraging your friends and family to make a donation to YWCA Toronto. Instead of exchanging gifts this year, please consider letting your friends and family know that YWCA Toronto is on your wish list this year.

A donation to YWCA Toronto supports not just one program but over 25 initiatives that help women and girls in our city, including the YWCA Toronto December 6 Fund. This Fund was established to mark the anniversary of the Montreal massacre when 14 women engineering students were murdered.

YWCA Toronto’s December 6 Fund provides critical interest free loans that enable women to escape abuse and live in safety. Your donation will help women and children flee violence and begin to rebuild their lives.

We encourage you to be part of YWCA Toronto’s Giving Tuesday campaign!
